Meeting Description:

The University of Rouen will be organizing an International Conference on Grammaticalization theory and Data on May 10-11, 2012 (Gramm2012). Plenary Speakers: Bernd Heine (University of Köln) and Elizabeth Traugott (Stanford University).


Call for Papers
 

Since the 1980s grammaticalization theory has emerged as a key theory to understand and explain language change. The examination of constant new empirical data has contributed to enrich and refine the theoretical framework. The purpose of this conference is to continue to explore the various facets of grammaticalization by proposing state-of-the-art papers not only in traditional areas of grammaticalization but also on innovative phenomena. New research on the following topics is specially welcome: grammaticalization and constructions; grammaticalization and gradualness and/or gradience; grammaticalization and (inter)subjectification; grammaticalization and prosody; grammaticalization and right-boundary adverbials.


Time for Papers: 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions.

Abstracts should be anonymous and no more than one side of A4. They should be sent to thefollowing address in PDF format: smhttiki@hotmail.com

Submission Deadline: October 30, 2011
Notification of acceptance will be sent to the authors by the end of November 2011.
